Frequently asked questions
Is Chile worth visiting?
Absolutely. Chile is one of the world’s most geographically diverse destinations, stretching from the Atacama Desert in the north to the glaciers of Patagonia in the south. In a single journey you can experience world-class wine country, vibrant cities, UNESCO World Heritage sites, ancient cultures, dramatic national parks and some of the clearest night skies on Earth.
When is the best time to visit Chile?
Chile is a year-round destination, and the ideal time depends on the region. Patagonia and the Lake District are best from September to April; the wine regions from October to April; the Atacama and Santiago all year; and Easter Island from October to March. Because Chile spans over 4,000 km, its regions have very different seasons.
Is Santiago safe to visit?
Yes. Santiago is generally considered one of South America’s safest major cities for visitors. As in any large city, take normal precautions in crowded places and on public transport. Our private tours provide comfortable transportation, knowledgeable local guides and carefully planned itineraries, so you can explore with confidence.
Do you only offer private tours?
Mostly, yes. Our specialty is fully private experiences designed around your interests, pace and schedule. We also organize custom thematic small-group departures for travelers who share a passion — such as astronomy, hiking, wine and gastronomy, or photography — led by expert guides.
Can you customize our itinerary?
Absolutely. Every traveler is different, so we design fully personalized itineraries — from a single private day tour to multi-week journeys across Chile and neighboring countries. Whether it’s a honeymoon, a family trip, a luxury escape or a special-interest journey, we tailor it to you.
Which destinations do you cover?
We operate throughout Chile: Santiago, Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, the Casablanca and Maipo wine valleys, the Atacama Desert, Patagonia and Torres del Paine, Puerto Varas and the Lake District, Chiloé, and Easter Island (Rapa Nui). We also design combined itineraries with Argentina, Peru and Bolivia.
How far in advance should we book?
For the best availability — especially during Patagonia’s high season — we recommend booking several months ahead. Private experiences often involve boutique hotels, premium wineries and specialist guides, which tend to have limited availability.
Why choose Chile Travel Adventures?
Because we believe travel should be personal. We specialize in thoughtfully designed private journeys that combine local expertise, seamless logistics, authentic experiences and personalized service — from your first inquiry to the end of your trip. Rather than standard packages, we create journeys that reflect your interests, pace and style.
